Welcome to This site isn't in the same vein as 4GuysFromRolla or Instead it's a [very] small collection of resources that I've found that other people have wanted, and which didn't seem to be readily available on the web at the time.

Since this isn't a money making venture (it's actually a loss making venture - notice the lack of banner ads?), you can take it as it comes. Feel free to drop me a line and let me know what you think.

Blog - Stuff to do with IIS, ASP and ASP.NET

FAQ - Deals mainly with ADO errors, and some tips on dealing with Access and ASP. Some other common error problems are also detailed.

Experiments - Various tests that I've done. Currently includes a test on the fastest way to get a newly inserted Access autonumber.

New FAQ article (IIS Request Processing) - 29/03/2005
Add a new FAQ that outlines what IIS does with your request once it comes in (IIS Request Processing), in terms of authentication and permissions. If you are getting 401 and 403 HTTP status codes, this FAQ might help tell you where you need to look to change your configuration.

Book Finished! - 1/05/2004
For the past couple of months I've been co-writing a book on IIS 6.0 Security with Bernard Cheah (who is also an IIS MVP). It's just gone to the printers, and should be available in shops in a couple of weeks. This is the first authoring job that I've done (I've done technical reviewing before), and I have a new-found appreciation for the job that technical writers do! If you want to order a copy online you can do so from Amazon. If you have any feedback, please feel free to contact me
